Acie Coleman Cook, Jr. (80) of Greensboro, N.C. passed away on April 2, 2024 at his home following a short illness. Lovingly known to many as Coleman or Cook he was born in Rockingham County, N.C. on May 1, 1943.
Acie grew up farming and eventually worked many years at Cone Mills textile plant in Greensboro as a machine operator. He was an avid baseball fan, who enjoyed gardening, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Coleman never met a stranger and loved sharing stories of his life with others.
Preceding him in death is his father, Acie Coleman Cook, Sr.; mother, Maude Eva Stubblefield Cook and sisters; Ollie Mae Johnson, Gloria Delane Cook and Lillie Bell Cook.
Coleman leaves to cherish fond memories two loving daughters, Lervetris Cook Clora (Sam) of Southfield Michigan and Lisa Cook Palmer of Greensboro; four grandchildren, Anthony Palmer, Sierra Palmer, Joya Palmer of Greensboro, and Mesha Cook of Detroit, Michigan; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Cook Withers of Reidsville, N.C., Mary Hellen Badgett and Loretta Cook of Burlington, N.C., Zelma Cook Kelson of Whitsett, N.C.; brother, Lawrence Cook of Greensboro, N.C.; one living auntie, Estelle Stubblefield; and a host of nieces and nephews. Coleman was also loved by special friends, Danielle Coachman, Seneca (Stink) Alston, Reba LeGrand and Angel Graves of Detroit, Michigan.
A Memorial Service will take place at 12:00 noon at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth Street, High Point, on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
